JBL On Stage 200ID High-Performance Speaker Dock for iPhone 1G and iPod (Black) Review
Picked this up clearanced out at a very well known toy store for .00 and for that price this thing can't be beat. But honestly listening to the competition costing twice that much this thing still shines with it's good sound to small footprint ratio. The sound is very clear with my iphone EQ set to Rock which emphasizes lows and highs. Also, Slacker and Pandora sound very good as well. Others have commented on base reproduction but I think a more accurate way to describe it would be mid-base. This thing is great for small rooms or an office. I have mine in the kitchen and I can hear it fine while washing dishes, cooking, and running the dishwasher. I have played this thing very loud with little to no distortion,(Blues, Jazz, and Rock mostly). Having realistic expectations is the key as this thing is NOT a stereo replacement or a thumping base machine.
The few cons are that the iphone adapter is limited if you have any kind of case on your phone. I am able to connect my iphone 4 and my wife's 3g, both with cases, without the provided adapter and have no fear of the connector giving way. The remote is also a little slow to respond at times while navigating the menu but does well most of the time with simple volume and song advance/previous inputs.
You can't go wrong with this little guy if you keep realistic expectations in the forefront of your purchase decision making. If bigger sound is require you can step up to the sound stage 400p which also has excellent reviews.

I love this this thing!
1) It looks and sounds great (you will think you have a Bose Wave) sitting next to your bed
2) It works with out any adapters on my (Iphone 3) and now my brand new (Iphone 4)
3) It keep your Iphone charged while your listening to your music or just as a stand alone charger
4) It is easy to carry around with you so you can take it on trips
I listen to and sometimes fall asleep to Pandora, Radio Paradise, Sirius, Podcasts, IHeart Radio and my community radio station (WMNF) and they all sound wonderful through this JBL speaker. You can also use it as a alarm clock via one of your Iphone apps. Of course if you have a Ipod it works as well and comes with adapters to fit the different models.
If you love music this is a must.
Best Bet - and better than most - billazon -
I've listened to a boatload of speakers in the 0 - 0 range, and this one JBL is the overall best. Almost all, including many that get favorable reviews, have such a muddy sound that it destroys a performance. A couple of the 0 speakers may have sounded as good, but factor in the protability and price and this is the one to buy.
Nice balanced and clear sound. I've had one for 2 years and use it every day. About to buy another as a gift for a lucky relative. Two years later and this is still the best speaker I can find in this price range.

Base is fine, an additional woofer would be better.
JBL - figure out what you did right with the acoustics on this particular iPhone speaker, and cultivate it. Its a winner.
